Deer Polishing Bone
|
Temporarily out of stock.
Polishing with a deer bone is a traditional way to keep cordovan, oil tanned and and wax calf shoes and boots clean and smooth. Our bones from Scottish red deer have the right density and natural oils from the marrow to remove scratches and add shine without damaging the surface.
To use, insert shoe trees into the shoes and apply the long side of the bone to the shoe, rubbing with a circular motion to smooth scuffs and minor gouges before polishing. Brush and buff to flatten the oils the bone leaves on the shoe. Then apply Renovateur and/or Saphir wax or cream polish liberally to the surface and polish normally.
No deer are ever killed solely for the bone, which is a by-product of the meat industry.
